NADEEM SHEFTA turned in a stellar performance as Tadcaster Magnet (160) beat visitors Sessay II by 83 runs in York & District Senior League Galtres division two.

Shefta (45) top scored in Magnet's 160, Richard Till bagging 4-40, and then claimed 4-20 as he, Simon McNamara (3-22) and Tyrone Naude (3-7) dismissed Sessay for 77.

Wetherby continued their fine form with victory over Duncombe Park thanks to Andrew Twitchen's 61 and 3-18.

Wetherby totalled 166, Jonathon Leckenby (3-32) and Peter Kent (3-28) among the wickets. Park were bowled out for 130.

Ripon stayed top despite a one-wicket defeat by Thorp Arch & Boston Spa.

Elliott Oates (52) stood out in Ripon's 131 all out, Guy Whatmore (58) replying as TABS edged home despite Matthew Morton's 5-46.

Pannal suffered a second consecutive defeat, visitors Sheriff Hutton Bridge II winning by three wickets. Mike Smith’s 4-49 saw Pannal all out for 175. Jack Hugill (32), Connor Campbell (35) and Alex Ibbotson (30) replied.

Matt Durkin hit an unbeaten 90 as Woodhouse Grange II beat Easingwold (202-7) by eight wickets. Skipper Tom Langstaff had hit 63 and Ronnie Alexander 52 not out for Easingwold.

Harry Collinson struck an unbeaten 110 as he and Mark Cook (68no) led Thirsk to a ten-wicket victory at Hovingham, chasing down 197-7. George Wainwright (78) top scored for Hov, Cook taking 4-19.

Galtres division three leaders New Earswick cruised to a ten-wicket win over Heworth III after Martyn Hewitson (4-7) had skittled the visitors for 45.

Stillington kept in touch with a four-wicket win at York IV.

Cameron Burdass (58) and Harvey Gration (43) helped York post 166-9. Mark Aconley (35) and Daniel Cass (45) set the foundation for Jack Cartwright (33no) to guide Stillington to full points.

Phil Headington bagged 3-17 as Sheriff Hutton bowled out Rowntrees & Huntington for 82. The hosts lost six wickets but bagged full points.

Mark Swales took 6-36 as Huby dismissed Civil Service II for 118, despite resistance from Jim Reynolds (39). The visitors cruised to a ten-wicket win through Hugh Sheddon (74no) and Edward Wright (38no).

In Galtres division four, Dave Lockwood (33no) saw New Earswick II post 106-7 at Huby II, Richard Wentworth taking 3-13. Huby collapsed to 83 all out due to Matt Taylor’s 4-16.

Osbaldwick II closed to within a point of leaders New Earswick II after openers Steve Smith (81) and Phil Hall (71) put on 139 in their 215-7. Jimmy Jacques, a 15-year-old leg-spinner, bagged 6-56 as Hovingham II were bowled out for 120.

Stillington II racked up 247-2 against Copmanthorpe II led by Tim Jarvis (89), Paul Thwaites (69no) and David Jarvis (35no). Dave Martin (65) and Phil Jackson (30) replied but Neil Haines bagged 4-53 as Cop were all out for 157.

Sheriff Hutton II had a six-wicket win at Duncombe Park II after Wayne Fawcett’s 3-32 helped restrict the hosts to 188-7, Ian Tessier (69) top scoring. Sheriff were guided home by opener Vijay Jayagopal (87no) and Gordon Moore (30no).
