John Flintoff (44) top scored for the home side who closed on 127-6 to deny Woodhouse an outright win.

Sheriff Hutton Bridge II’s decision to bat was vindicated after Paul Oldfield (76) helped them to 263-4 at home to Hovingham. Stuart Prest top scored for Hovingham with 68 but the visitors were cleaned up for 119.

Thorp Arch & Boston Spa (200-8) left it late to beat visitors Easingwold II (198-7).

Runaway division three leaders New Earswick (118-10) were brought down to earth by Sheriff Hutton (203-7). Both Prosser (3-33) and Richard Ainley (3-25) weighed in with five wickets to earn Sheriff Hutton the win.

An entertaining encounter at Elm Park Way saw Woodhouse Grange (211-8) prevail by 40 runs. Heworth’s 16-year-old Ed Rymer was the top scorer with his highest ever senior score of 39. In reply, Heworth (171-10) were always up with the rate but lost wickets at key moments.

Home team Stillington (207-8) beat neighbours Huby (204-6) by two wickets to stay in the promotion places after Jon Wright (74) top scored for the visitors. In reply, Steve Crowder (47), Mark Aconley (46), and Wayne Linton (37*) were among the runs as the home side took full points.

Tadcaster Magnet II (93-1) came out on top in a low scoring affair at home to Civil Service II (91-10). Duncombe Park II (152-5) had a rewarding visit to Copmanthorpe II in division four – returning with a five-wicket win.

Stillington II were restricted to 117-9 at Huby II (118-7) after Matt Avision (4-13) and Richard Wentworth (3-21) were among the wickets.

Hovingham II’s run of form came to an end at home to Sheriff Hutton II after their 143-9 was successfully chased down with Vijay Jayagopal (49*) leading the way to a total of 144-7 earning Sheriff Hutton maximum points.
