WITH Ripon's game against Tadcaster Magnet being abandoned without a ball being bowled, Pannal's six-wicket win at Thirsk has given them some daylight at the top of the Hunters York & District Senior League Galtres division two.

After shooting out their hosts for 94, Rob Ellis (56no) led his side to maximum points in 28 overs.

The prolific Brian Leckenby (136no) was again among the runs as Duncombe Park hit 246-4 in 35 overs at home to Sessay II (209-2).

In the second innings, Matthew Wass (124no) hit an unbeaten ton, and Richard Till was 34 not out as the home side took the bulk of the points.

Thorp Arch & Boston Spa (153-9) held out to deny hosts Sheriff Hutton Bridge II (166-9) an outright win at Moor Farm after Paul Oldfield (46) had top-scored in the first innings.

Mike Smith took 4-36 when the visitors batted, but victory was denied them, thanks in the main to Andrew Jones (39) and Ethan Parsons (26).

The match between Wetherby and Easingwold II (109-8) was abandoned after 22 overs of the second innings with the home side on 89-3.

Hovingham v Woodhouse Grange II and Tadcaster Magnet v Ripon were both abandoned without a ball being bowled.

In Galtres division three, Steve Jones hit 117 not out and Matt Swaddle 89 as York IV racked up a massive 277-2 declared at Dringhouses II before bowling out the home side for just 97 inside 25 overs to take full points.

Richard Taylor (99) fell agonisingly short of three figures as he played the lead role in Tadcaster Magnet II's 246-5 declared at Rowntrees & Huntington.

Taylor then took 3-10 as the home side held out at 151-8 to deny their guests an outright win.

Huby v Sheriff Hutton was abandoned with Huby 1-0 after 5 deliveries.

In Galtres division four, Darren Howell (49) helped Huby II to 137-8 in a rain-affected encounter at home to Osbaldwick II (138-3), who won by seven wickets after Nigel Rippon had hit 41 and Andy Hall 59 not out, enabling the visitors to take maximum points and a 20-point lead at the top.

Hovingham II's trip to White Rose Avenue ended in victory after they notched a 5-wicket win over New Earswick II.

Matt Farrow took 3-41 as the home side were restricted to 133-8, with Paul Coull (26) top-scoring for the home side. In reply, Alistair Thorpe hit 72 as Hovingham closed on 136-5 to take the win.

Copmanthorpe II (144-4) enjoyed a 6-wicket win at home to Sheriff Hutton (143-9) after Joel Arnold's 73 had helped pave the way to victory.
