YORK III crashed to a nine-wicket loss at home to Scarborough II in the Ebor division two of the York & District Senior Cricket League.

The seasiders invited their hosts to bat first and Darren Mills took 5-16 and Tom Precious 3-12 to shoot them out for 58 inside 12 overs.

Precious hit an unbeaten 32 in the visitors' 60-1.

Hemingbrough also had a convincing win as they crushed hosts Heworth II by 118 runs.

Layton Hallam (60), Rob Scurr (52 not out) and Tom Collins (51) saw Hemingbrough chalk up 221-3 declared in 31 overs.

Andy Armstrong hit 28 as Heworth were bowled out for 103.

There was limited play at Yapham (14-1) against Clifton Alliance II and at Acomb II (3-0) against Carlton Towers, due to rain.

At Malton, play lasted a little longer as Bradley Freer hit 65 for Malton & Old Malton II against Londesborough Park before rain came with the score on 100-3.

Pickering II took the bulk of the points in a draw against Dringhouses, who hung on at 84-9 after their hosts had scored 134, in which Mick Kenyon bagged 6-40.

In Ebor division three, Colin Mainds (75), Will O’Donnell (61) and Simon Franks (46) helped Goole Town II to 250-6 before rained curtailed proceedings at home to Selby II.

There was limited play at Castleford II (7-1) against Cawood.

Londesborough Park II (87-3) against Civil Service also ended early, while the match at Whitkirk II (41-0) had the home side chasing 157-7 set by Pocklington II before they too were washed out.

There was no play at all in Ebor division three between Thorp arch & Boston Spa II and Bolton Percy II, while the games between Cawood II and Drax (29-2) and Carlton Towers II (47-3) and Woodhouse Grange IV were cut short.

North Duffield took maximum points at Heworth IV after setting their hosts a target of 194-3, Trevor Britain hitting an unbeaten 92. Craig Patrick took 5-14 and James Knibb 5-20 as Heworth were shot out for 53.

In the only completed game in Galtres division two, Rob Taylor hit 130 as Ripon scored 236-5 in a reduced-over affair at Thirsk.

The hosts, though, held out for a draw thanks to Stu Christon (51) and Adrian Porter (38no).

Visitors Wetherby made 221-6 at Pannal, Paul Horsey hitting 52 and Tom Wilson 34 not out. Pannal were 105-1, with Andy Ellis unbeaten on 48, when rain stopped play.

Tadcaster Magnet versus Duncombe Park (20-1), Woodhouse Grange II versus Sessay II (7-1) and Hovingham versus Sheriff Hutton Bridge II were also abandoned.

In a low-scoring Galtres division three match, hosts Dringhouses II lost by four wickets to Rowntrees and Huntington.

Steve Beales took 3-4 and Tom Shaw 4-5 as Houses were skittled for 41. In reply, Tim Owen took 4-7 as the visitors scored 42-6 to win.

Matt Hunt hit an unbeaten 66 as Tadcaster Magnet II scored 181-8 at Civil Service II, who were 44-0 when the rain came.

New Earswick versus Sheriff Hutton (25-2), Woodhouse Grange III versus Heworth III (13-2) and Huby versus Stillington were also abandoned.

Copmanthorpe II top Galtres division four after winning at Sheriff Hutton II by nine wickets. Dave Martin scored 39 when chasing their target of 85-7.

Hovingham II (113-4) recorded their first win of term, by six wickets at Duncombe Park II (111-7).

Owen Cowton, a recent signing from Ryedale, was unbeaten on 44 in the first innings, but Oliver Coulthard (45) and Jamie Dean (30) saw the visitors home.

Nigel Rippon hit 29 off 19 balls as Osbaldwick II reached 114-6 before rain ended proceedings against Huby II. There was no play between Stillington II and New Earswick II.
