SESSAY will confirm their promotion back to the top flight with victory at Pickering next week after getting the better of nearest rivals Driffield Town in Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League division one.

Simon Mason hit 107 for the league leaders and his partnership of 110 with Mark Wilkie (57) set up an imposing total of 246-9.

The visitors were never able to mount a serious challenge after they were reduced to 104-8 and only a half-century stand between Johnny Anderson (40no) and Jamie Greavson (12no) kept them in the game as Wilkie took 3-13, Stuart Peirse (2-39) and Stephen Langstaff (2-12).

Pickering remain in third after a comfortable win at Beverley Town by 97 runs.

Colin Frank (104) scored a century for the visitors and received good support from Tom Sigsworth (41) and David Greenlay (31).

Despite 30 from Kieran Thompson and an unbeaten 40 from Peter Parnaby, Beverley never looked likely to mount a serious challenge to a target of 228-6 and were bowled out for 131.

Despite having not won in their last three Bolton Percy continue to hold on to the final promotion place. Their latest encounter ended in defeat at home to Whitkirk.

Sam Parker (71) and Andrew Mason (55) both scored half-centuries as the visitors posted an impressive 259-9 despite the efforts of Phillip Malloch (4-22) and Danny White (3-70).

Mark Murphy (5-36) secured maximum points for Whitkirk as they moved to within striking distance of the top four.

Bridlington sit just outside the promotion places after they got the better of a high scoring draw at Malton & Old Malton. Nick Tennant (54) and Simon Leeson (49) were in the runs as Brid totalled 241-8.

Gary Hall made 73 in Malton's reply of 221-8.

Goole Town ended a run of 11 matches without a win as they beat Folkton & Flixton by 88 runs and Adrian Long turned in a match winning performance for Sewerby as they won the basement battle against Osbaldwick.

The all-rounder took 3-44 and, in tandem with Robin Coates (3-35), restricted the away side to 173-9, which included 40 from Jonny Rawsthorne. He then top scored with 33 as the home side recorded back-to-back wins.
