LEADERS Selby all but sealed promotion from Hunters York & District Senior League division two north after a six wicket win over Clifton Alliance.

Selby reduced the visitors to 155 all out, Gareth Roberts claiming figures of 4-24, and wasted little time in collecting their 12th win of the season.

Michael Smales top scored with 56.

Harrogate closed the gap on second place to just four points after securing an eight-wicket win over promotion rivals Sheriff Hutton Bridge, who were dismissed for a disappointing 123.

Abdi-Hasan Rehman Ahmed (4-41) and Ali-Hasan Ahmed (3-20) combined to do the damage and a pair of fifties, from Ben Sedgley (51) and Richard Burcher (60 not out), was enough to see them home.

York improved their slim hopes of promotion with a 75-run success over second-placed Londesborough Park.

York posted 185, Harry Contreras top scoring with 61. Darren Moody collected a five-wicket haul but it wasn't to prove enough for victory as his men fell to a heavy defeat.

Ian Giddings claimed figures of 5-31 as Park finished on 110 all out.

Ripon smashed Thirsk by 129-runs to claim victory in the mid-table battle. Ripon racked up 233-6 with Elliott Oates (65 not out) and Gary Blackburn (53) both striking half-centuries.

Thirsk collapsed to a substandard 110 in response. Ben Crewe (3-19) and Jake Briscombe (3-34) were among the wickets.

Acomb claimed their second win of the season with a three-wicket success over Hovingham. Acomb restricted the hosts to 196-6 with Richard Swann hitting a half-century.

Matthew Williams had the final say, though, as he smashed an unbeaten 77 to guide Acomb to victory.

Duncombe Park and Easingwold played out an entertaining draw at Baxtons Road.

Pocklington strengthened their grip on top spot in division two south after claiming an eight-wicket win over Hull Zingari.

Dave Chaplin (5-14) and Andrew Anderson (3-9) restricted Zingari to 136. The leaders then rushed to victory in just 20 overs. Chaplin backed up his fine five-wicket haul with 42.

Hornsea remain in second spot following a 20-run success over Hull, while Dringhouses piled more misery on hapless Heworth as the promotion-chasers collected a three-wicket win.

Heworth collapsed to a pitiful 85 all out, Tom Storr the pick of the Dringhouses bowlers with 4-21.

Gary Wilson's men lost regular wickets in their pursuit of 86 for victory but the skipper struck an unbeaten 48 to lead his side to success with 24 overs to spare.

Patrington's promotion hopes were dealt a blow as they fell to a seven-wicket defeat at the hands of struggling Rowntrees & Huntington.

Rowntrees restricted the visitors to 221 all out despite Cameron McKinley top scoring with 83. Jack Hugill backed up his earlier figures of 4-43 to strike a half-century. Robert Stevens stole the headlines, though, to hit an unbeaten ton to guide his side over the winning line.

Driffield Town secured a 45-run success over Tadcaster Magnet while Woodhouse Grange and Welton & Brough played out a thrilling draw - only five runs separating the two teams after 90 overs of cricket.
