TABLE-topping Londesborough Park extended their lead at the summit of division four west of the Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League with a five-wicket win over Dunnington.

Dunnington were restricted to 90 all out with Tom Sowerby (3-14) and Tom Williamson (4-24) both impressing with the ball. Londesborough lost early wickets but an unbeaten 37 from Edward Smith secured a fifth win of the campaign.

Stamford Bridge, in third, kept up the pressure with a 175 run hammering of Woodhouse Grange. They raced to 223-7 declared from their 40 overs with Cameron King (80) top scoring.

That proved more than enough as Woodhouse collapsed to 48 all out. It was Ben Beard (3-11) and Mark Fairweather (4-8) who did the damage with the ball.

Thorp Arch & Boston Spa won their mid-table clash against Carlton Towers - running out eight-wicket winners. In a low scoring affair, Carlton posted 115 all out with Jamie Bingle (55) scoring the bulk of the runs for the visitors.

A fine unbeaten 40 from Thorp Arch’s Jim Riley (42 not out) ensured the hosts would secure a routine win.

A last wicket stand of 12 was enough to help Cawood secure a draw against Selby.

Selby batted first and were in trouble on 77-5 after three quick wickets from the impressive Michael Gibson (4-33). Malcolm Bowden (43) led the recovery as he guided his side to 158 all out.

In reply, Jeffrey Romans (2-13) and Richard Sherwood (4-25) had Cawood wobbling at 100-9 but Daniel Woodhead calmly finished on 15 not out to secure the draw.

In division four central, Cawood fell to a humiliating 112 run defeat at the hands of New Earswick. They had restricted their hosts to just 133 all out, with Daniel Lockwood (67) underpinning his side's batting effort.

Cawood had a nightmare with the bat, though, with only one batsman scoring more than ten runs. New Earswick bowled superbly with Lockwood collecting 5-7 and Josh Ellis 4-1. Cawood were bowled out for an embarrassing 21.

Huby were also big winners as they secured a 105 run success over Dringhouses. They batted first, having lost the toss, and posted 172-7 with Edward Wright (39) top-scoring.

Dringhouses just didn’t get going as extras top scored for the hosts. Ollie Tanner-Smith (4-11) helped restrict Dringhouses to just 67 all out.

Leaders Sheriff Hutton continued their fine summer with a four-wicket win over Civil Service. It was a fifth win in seven fixtures for the table-toppers, who secured a crucial victory over their promotion rivals.

They had David Chugg to thank as he starred with the ball, collecting 6-33, as second placed Service scored just 129. John Armitage struck an impressive 47 in reply.

Lowly Stillington secured their maiden win of the season by defeating Duncombe Park by six wickets. It was the Jarvis show for Stillington as David Jarvis took 3-17 to limit Duncombe to just 113-9 from 45 overs. In reply, it was Tim Jarvis who stole the show when striking an unbeaten 42.
