DIVISION two south leaders Pocklington extended their advantage over Patrington to 24 points with an eight-wicket win over Hull Zingari in the York & District Senior Cricket League.

Batting first, Hull’s Alastair Markham (74) top-scored as his side set 218 for their high-flying hosts to chase, but Andy Anderson (100no) and David Chaplin (51no) ensured Pocklington tasted victory once more.

Patrington climbed up to second place with a comprehensive seven-wicket win over Rowntrees & Huntington.

Jack Eggett’s 5-32 restricted Rowntrees to a below par 135 all out. The hosts then made light work of their target, chasing down the required runs inside 32 overs with Marc Pollard hitting an unbeaten 70.

Dringhouses eased to victory over Heworth with a comprehensive nine-wicket win.

Heworth batted first and set 141 with Neil Martin (34) top-scoring. Andrew Simpson’s 50 and a fine unbeaten 74 from Chris Evans secured victory for Dringhouses.

Driffield Town recorded an eight-wicket win over Tadcaster Magnet.

The hosts batted first and were restricted to a below par 125 by John Woolley (3-27), Andrew Rodgers (3-17) and Grant Hutton (3-32).

Welton & Brough were 139-run victors over winless Woodhouse Grange.

Stephen Scammells hit an unbeaten 84 in his side’s 214-5 from their 45 overs. He then claimed 3-13 and Jonny Cowing 5-26 as Grange were blown away for only 75.
