CAWOOD’S promotion chances in division four west took a hit when they lost by eight wickets to lowly Thorp Arch & Boston Spa.

S Baxter made 46 and R Liddle 33 for Cawood but 5-31 by B Williams, paired with Dan Kilby’s 3-11 had Cawood all out for 145.

The Arch were then taken to a convincing eight-wicket win by the combination of Andrew Jones, who made 75, and Dale Gibson, with 51 not out.

There was local rivalry at Carlton Towers but the game was a one-sided affair with Carlton beat Drax by 168 runs after amassing 267-7.

Marcus Atkinson made an unbeaten 102, while D Baker added 65 and Dave Howard 29 as Steve Armitage claimed 3-61.

Drax were then bowled out for just 99.

At Copmanthorpe, Jos Tattersall made 52 for Dunnington but Paul Wynn took 4-18 to dismiss the visitors for 129.

Wynne then followed with a crucial 39 not out to take Copmanthorpe to a three-wicket victory.

Entertaining leaders Hemingbrough, Rowntrees were only able to make 99-9 as Tom Shepherd claimed 6-38. Gary Wilson then struck an unbeaten 60 in an eight-wicket win.

John Rossington had reached 81 for Bolton Percy at Tadcaster Magnet when he had to retire hurt. Mike Furze weighed in with an unbeaten 48 as Bolton posted 183-5.

Kev Wakefield then made 26 for Magnet, but his side were bowled out for 118 as M Ferguson took 3-24 and Martin Pears 4-14.

P Durkin made 36 in Woodhouse Grange’s 91 all out as Pocklington’s Geoff Woodward bagged 4-20. C Wilson then made 33 not out and B Bold 30 as Pocklington won by seven wickets.
