RAIN ruined an intriguing contest between Sheriff Hutton II and Duncombe Park II in division four central of the Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League.
Sheriff Hutton were all out for 83 batting first, with Wayne Fawcett hitting 36 not out as Scott Plowman (4-16) and Seb Carter (4-30) did the damage for Duncombe.
Rain intervened with Duncombe Park on 55-7.
In division four west, Cawood declared on 211-4 in 30 overs at Drax with Michael Gibson (103) and Stuart Baxter (46) leading the way.
However, Drax were in a strong position at 76-1 when the match became another victim of the atrocious weather. The contest ended in the 25th over with Stephen Ryan unbeaten on 37.
Thorp Arch & Boston Spa’s game at home to Rowntrees & Huntington was abandoned after 7.4 overs of the second innings with the home side on 52-1 chasing a target of 140 set by their visitors. Simon Ball took 4-45 for Thorp Arch.
In division four east, Beverley Town lost by five wickets at Cottingham after making 110-9 batting first.
Damon Jenkinson (71) and Isaac Wilkes (67) helped Driffield to 199-8 against Patrington in a match reduced to 33 overs per side. Nick English then took 5-34, but Patrington held on at 129-8.
