Malton & Old Malton clinched the division two title when they defeated Clifton Alliance at home in a low-scoring encounter.
Clifton’s batsmen were all at sea as Wayne Dawson captured 6-16 and William Spencer 3-9.
An extremely modest target of 55 then proved to be a none too simple task as Dominic Snook (2-9) and Ryan Turner (2-10) hit back, but Stephen Linsley’s undefeated 20 represented the difference between the two sides and saw Malton to a nervous four-wicket triumph.
Woodhouse Grange’s Matthew Shepherd failed by two runs to reach a seasonal total of 700 when he fell for 44 against Welton & Brough.
However, this had little consequence on the outcome as Woodhouse won by six wickets.
Welton’s 170 included 41 from Ashley Page, whereas Jon Bean (54) and Luke Cattle (36) supported Shepherd as Grange progressed to a winning 171-4.
