THE Pilmoor Evening Cricket League reached its mid-point and a fine first division win by Clifton Alliance.

Their innings was dominated by Jason Gatus who made an unbeaten 86 as Alliance closed on 118-2.

Crayke limped to 65 all out falling to the wiles of Ryan Partington (2-11), Tom Smith (3-4) and M Taylor (2-18).

At the top, Thirsk opened a four-point lead with victory over Sheriff Hutton Bridge.

Jack Hugill claimed 4-14 for Bridge as Thirsk reached 101-6. Hugill then top-scored in the reply making 25, but Richard Kirby’s 3-9 left Bridge on 80-8.

Second division leaders Acomb visited Easingwold where the hosts batted first and made 130-2 led by Andrew Metcalfe (39), Tommy Langstaff (31), Jamie Metcalfe (29no) and Dan Copeland (23no).

After Matt Dale’s 35, Acomb started to toil until Adrian Burton hit 47, including three sixes. However, they closed on 119-9 to lose.
