RAIN had the final say in the Pilmoor Evening Cricket League with play only in two games and none completed.
Attention centred on division two with Sheriff Hutton holding a one-point advantage over Easingwold. Rowntrees & Huntington batted first at Sheriff Hutton and were making good progress at 101-4 when the weather called a halt after 15 overs.
Jack Hugill hit 42 not out for the York side, while David Hull took 3-14 for the hosts.
Easingwold managed to play a ten-overs per side game in poor conditions at Stillington. The hosts batted first and made 66-3, with Karl Simpson making 35 not out and Chris Scurr taking 2-20.
George Elliott made 41 as Easingwold reached 66-2, but the result was declared void as rules state fixtures must be a minimum of 18 overs per side.
That meant Sheriff Hutton took the division two title.
