SHERIFF Hutton Bridge batsman Geoff Schofield made 101 in a high-scoring game at Hovingham in division three.

The home side reached a seemingly insurmountable total of 255-5 thanks to John Mosey (60), Alistair Thorp (48) and Tichie Brown (33), Paul Deverell (63).

Schofield led the Bridge reply, while Andy Kenny hit an unbeaten 43, but home bowler Steve Mosey (3-65) did enough to ensure his side gained an advantage draw as Bridge made 241-6.

Stillington youngster Shaun Speck cracked 74 as his side made a first innings score of 185-7 against visiting Thorp Arch & Boston Spa.

Phil Moss added 30 to counteract the 3-50 gained by Ben Preston.

Moss then took 4-15 in a decisive seven-over spell, while Mike Whitwell weighed in with 3-31.

Their efforts nullified the 40 made by Andy Hawkswell, who saw his side slip to defeat at 125 all out.
