Dunnington then teetered on the brink of defeat when their local rivals reduced them to 91-9 in the available 45 overs.

Shaun Le Roux was the star in Castleford's 15-run win at Huby, where he made 52 and then claimed 4-24.

John Flintoff's 70 enabled Sessay to bat out for a draw at Selby.

At Heworth, Carl Blundell hit 71 to help York III to 193-9.

Adam Davies made inroads into the home batting with 6-54, but a brilliant 83 from Steve Clark enabled Heworth to emerge with a draw at 177-9.

Two long-servers were to the fore as Osbaldwick gained a three-wicket win at Thirsk. Pete Machin took 3-15 and Mick Hammerton made 36. Jim McKendry made 50 for Thirsk.
