Thorp Arch and Boston Spa's Giles Toogood lived up to his name when his club entertained Tadcaster Magnet in York & District Senior League division 5B.

The home side notched up a comfortable eight-wicket win thanks to Toogood.

The former Oxford Blue, who had best bowling figures of 8-52 in a 34-match first class career between 1982 and 1989, claimed 5-18 as he and Howard Lofthouse (3-17) dismissed Magnet for 109.

Tom Wilson's unbeaten 41 then piloted the hosts to their target.

Dan Brumpton hit 84 as Driffield III also recorded an eight-wicket win at the expense of Huntington, who made 140-9. Rob Woodcock took 4-49 for Driffield.

Hull Zingari's Jim Berridge hit 105 when his side made 253-7 at Londesborough Park, who were then dismissed for 135.

One of the lowest totals for some years saw Hovingham all out for only 19 at Pocklington whose James Saltmer, with 3-3, and Rich Williman, with 4-2, set up a rapid nine-wicket win for the hosts.

Kevin Borwell proved to be a match-winner for Stillington at Bolton Percy, where he took 3-31 and then cracked 63 to see his side home by four wickets.

Rowntree's Chris Todd made his second half-century at Carlton Towers, but his side were on the losing end of a draw.

Carlton debutant Will Brown took 5-42 to restrict Rowntree to 161-6, which left them 35 runs short.

A 98-run opening stand between Graham Purdy (50) and James Woodall (24) paved the way for a 28-run win for Civil Service at the expense of Dringhouses.

Cawood's James Pullein hit a fine 127 at Whitkirk, but finished on the losing side.
