Clifton Alliance's second team bowlers have made a flying start to the York & District Senior League division two season.
Alliance prevented their opponents gaining any batting points for the second successive week. After dismissing Dringhouses for 87 on the opening day of the campaign, they shot out Duncombe Park for a mere 64 on Saturday.
Chief architect of the destruction was Francis Hawthorne, whose 6-23 came off 9.2 overs. His partner in crime was once again John Thornton, who grabbed 3-39.
After losing an early wicket, Clifton were piloted to a comfortable nine-wicket victory which saw Simon Corley (26no) and Mark Taylor (22no) as the undefeated batsmen.
Bolton Percy played out an obstinate draw against Osbaldwick as they crawled to 72-7 in reply to the visitors' 150-8.
Osbaldwick's total came via a batting threesome of Andy Exley (34), Simon Levison (37) and Andy Hall (30).
Ali Rigby took 3-23 and John Anderson claimed 3-44, but their efforts were devalued as Hall claimed 5-15 in a spartan 19-over spell.
Making their first visit to Marfleet, Dringhouses were bowled out for 125 as Fenner's Richard Barker claimed 4-40. Only John Crowe (42) showed with the bat.
Mick Kenyon then bowled well for the visitors to take 4-18, but 34 from Sam Fuller and 35 by Paul Scrouston put Fenner on course for a three-wicket win, sealed by John Park's six.
