ONLY three overs of play were possible in a rain-hit week for the Foss Evening Cricket League.
The league had already opted to move the opening week’s fixtures from Wednesday, May 2 to the end of the season.
And last week’s ‘first’ fixtures were also all-but wiped out by the weather, with the division three game between hosts Dunnington Academy and Heworth Colts the only one to get under way.
Heworth reached 17-0 from three overs before the rain came down.
Among the games washed out was an interesting match-up between reigning division one champions Stamford Bridge and runners-up York.
