A TOTAL of five new sides have entered the Foss Evening Cricket League for the 2011 season, making it one of the largest in the area with 23 teams playing in three divisions.
Yorkshire League champions York have joined division one and will compete for the Stubbins Trophy with champions Woodhouse Grange, Heworth, Dunnington, Stamford Bridge, Londesborough Park, Barmby Moor and Pocklington.
Bishopthorpe and Osbaldwick have entered division two and will join Yapham, The Retreat, Westow, Stockton and Hopgrove, Wheldrake and Melbourne.
Ovington are new to division three, while The Retreat become the third side to have a second string in the league. They are joined by Heworth Colts, Dunnington Academy, Fulfordgate, Thixendale and York RI.
