Top two on collision course in battle for Foss crown

LEADERS Barmby Moor are on course for a title decider against Woodhouse Grange next week in a thrilling finish to the Foss Evening Cricket League.

Moor went top of division one after beating Melbourne as Woodhouse Grange were defeated at Heworth.

Melbourne made 74-6, with Eddie Oliver top-scoring on 25 and Moor won by eight wickets with 15 balls to spare as Charlie Cameron (35no) and Andrew Winn (29no) shared a 54-run partnership.

Grange managed 88-6 at Heworth, with Chris Bilton scoring 39 not out. Jack Leaning took 3-9. Heworth won by seven wickets thanks to runs from Rich Walton (33) and Leaning (25no).

Stamford Bridge had a nine- wicket victory against Yapham as Ian Henderson (38no) and David Chaplin (36no) overhauled their target of 82-4.

The Retreat inflicted a first defeat of the season on Heworth Colts to open up the promotion race in division two. Salman Syed starred for Retreat with 45 not out and 3-19.
