DUNNINGTON all-rounder Jake Murphy haunted his former club York with a great individual display in their Foss Evening League division one clash.

The off-spinner took 4-20 but overseas player Adam Whatley made 46 as York closed on 133-6. Murphy then smashed 62 as the Common Roaders won with 16 balls to spare.

Leaders Woodhouse Grange thrashed North Dalton by ten wickets. Dalton made a below-par total of 83-9, but Mike Hattee (56no) then took the Dalton attack apart - knocking off the runs in 11.2 overs with Matthew Proctor (28no).

Stamford Bridge’s Natty Burge and Erasmus Du Toit took three wickets each as Heworth were bowled out for 89. Bridge eased home thanks to Mark Tennant (52no) and his brother, Sam (33).

Tight bowling from Osbaldwick's Matthew Hattee (3-16) helped restrict Pocklington to 86-9, Osbaldwick winning in 16.2 overs.

Scott Clapham starred as Bishopthorpe scored too many for Ovington to chase in division two. He struck 41 in a total of 150-5 then took 2-12 with his part-time off-spin.

Ian Holmes (44) put on 61 for Bishopthorpe’s fifth wicket with Mark Ford (34no from 19 balls). Ovington looked well set to hunt down the target as Craig Nicholl (47 from 36 balls) and Joe Whale (47 from 44 balls) added 78.

But four wickets fell for one run in the 17th and 18th overs to effectively decide the outcome.

Mark Willoughby scored 34 on his debut as Dunnington Academy beat Melbourne by nine runs. With opener Dan Andrews finishing unbeaten on 59 not out, Dunnington closed on 126-4.

Retreat II's new signing, Kudrat Ali, caused mayhem against Heworth Nomads in division three.

Kudrat, who plays for Rising Stars in the Quaid E Azam League, hit five sixes in six balls in the opening overs. Retreat captain Bruce Kitchener retired Kudrat on 31 in the third over and the runs dried up as youngsters Dan Durkin and Kewell Ford finished with identical figures of 3-9.

Ali returned to bat at number 11 - hitting two more maximums before being stumped for 49 - as Retreat closed on 102 all out. Greg Sykes completed Heworth’s win with an unbeaten 36 not out.

Ten-man Aviva Vikings still had too much firepower for Westow, winning by six runs. Simon Burrows (41) and Kushal Sehgal (36) were the main contributors to Vikings' 135-5.

Retreat I completed an emphatic ten-wicket win over Thixendale, who were in trouble at 10-4, with Salman Syed claiming (4-10). Alex Machen (45) launched a counter-attack before falling to a fine catch by Syed. Retreat openers Ryan Partington (30no) and Suranga Uragaha (77no) wasted no time in knocking off the runs.

Heworth Colts opener Chris Barratt (60no) snatched a last-ball win against Bishop Wilton, levelling the scores with a boundary off the penultimate ball and then hitting the winning single.
