10:24am Monday 15th October 2012 in Sport
Heworth ARLC were undone by free-scoring winger Jason Priestley as they lost 34-10 at home to National Conference League division two champions East Leeds.
Priestley scored a hat-trick of tries, including two towards the end of the second half as the visitors pulled clear for their 22nd win of the season.
Mark Greenwood touched down for Easts on five minutes and Priestley converted.
The Villagers were denied a try for offside but then, on 17 minutes, Lewis Worthington scooped up a loose ball to score and Tom Barron converted.
Easts led 22-6 at the break after scores for Ryan Lillywhite, Priestley and Kyle Quinlan, plus two Priestley goals.
Skipper Mike Welsh got a second Heworth try on 42 minutes, but Dale Pattison crossed for the visitors three minutes later before Priestley rounded off the scoring and his hat-trick with two tries.
Chris Varley, Barron, Mark Musgrave and Mike Crossman were Heworth’s top performers.
