York Cricket Club in top ten for Spain knockout

ALL-CONQUERING York Cricket Club have landed in La Manga for the Kiss Mix Lady Taverners Charity t20 Tournament.

The reigning Solly Sports Yorkshire ECB County Premier League champions were handed the chance to shine in the Spanish sun after winning the Kingfisher Beer Cup final last month.

Their eight-wicket victory over Wanstead & Snaresbrook at Derbyshire’s County Ground booked them a place in the ten team competition.

York’s rivals in the knockout competition include ECB National Club t20 champions Wimbledon, plus teams from Spain, Belgium and Switzerland, and four sides from Norway.

Victory in the tournament would earn the Clifton Parkers the right to face a Lord’s Taverners’ Legends side captained by England Ashes-winning skipper Mike Gatting in a charity match.
