Wigginton Grasshoppers maintained their 100 per cent start to the season in York Minster Engineering Football League reserve ‘A’ with a 5-0 win at Dringhouses.
Dave Thompson, Rob Orr, Tom Darbyshire (2) and Ben Thompson were the Grasshoppers goal-getters.
Promoted York RI chalked up their first win of the campaign as a brace each from Colin Gibson and Dave Clarke sealed a 4-1 home win over Haxby. Paul Holmes replied for the visitors.
Riccall opened their points account at the third time of asking with a 1-1 home draw with Copmanthorpe.
Matty Barker equalised for Cop after Jim Darlison had given Riccall a half-time advantage. Old Malton showed no mercy to a below-strength Hamilton Panthers in a 15-0 win that included a hat-trick each for Dean Leadhill and Rich Stephenson, plus four goals for Adam Newell. Malton & Norton retain top spot in reserve ‘C’ despite a 1-1 draw at Selby RSSC.
David Sayles levelled for Selby after Darryl Craggs had given the Ryedale side the lead.
After a goalless first half, Poppleton managed to make it two wins from two as they defeated Thorpe 3-2. Danny Barrett netted along with brothers Nick and Richard Moss.
Zac Tobin hit both goals for Tockwith in their 2-0 home win over Wilberfoss.
Bishop Wilton ended a run of 15 games without a win in reserve ‘D’ as they triumphed 2-1 over Tadcaster Town.
Nigel Allinson and Oliver Riley struck the goals which saw Bishop Wilton record their first win since October last year – when they beat Fox, who have been renamed Tadcaster Town.
