LEEDS United are looking to go into the international break on the back of a Yorkshire derby win over Barnsley in the npower Championship.

A win at Elland Road tomorrow could lift the Whites into the play-off zone as they are currently ninth – three points adrift of third-placed Brighton.

The Tykes are in the lower reaches of the table but only three points behind Leeds, who will next be in action at Sheffield Wednesday on Friday, October 19.

Boss Neil Warnock believes his side’s 2-2 draw with Bolton in midweek was an indication of United’s progress this season.

Goals from York-based Sam Byram and Luciano Becchio put United 2-1 up, but veteran striker Kevin Davies scored his second header of the night to seal a point.

Warnock said: “When you go there and you’re disappointed to get a point, it sums up the dressing room really.

“We’ve come a long way when we can go somewhere like a Bolton and be disappointed with a point.”
