In-form striker keeps York City’s youth team second in table
11:25am Wednesday 3rd October 2012 in Sport
YORK City’s youth team held Doncaster Rovers to a 1-1 draw in their top-of-the-table clash in South Yorkshire, writes Steven Middleton.
Chris Dickinson’s third goal in as many games gave the Minstermites the lead late in the first half but a goal from a controversially awarded corner earned hosts Rovers a share of the spoils.
A left-wing cross from Jordan Outerbridge found Harry Coates’ feet for the visitors’ goal with the latter then playing the ball to Dickinson, who finished well.
Reece Kelly also hit a post for Steve Torpey’s teenagers and Outerbridge fired over before the home team snatched an equaliser to keep City second in the Football League Youth Alliance’s North-East standings.
• York Minstermen will be holding their monthly general knowledge quiz in the Pitchside Bar at Bootham Crescent tomorrow.
The cost is £1 per person with a maximum of five members to a team.
Doors open at 7pm, with the quiz starting at 8.30pm.
