Hockey: Badgers pay for first half woes

INJURY-HIT City of York Hockey Club’s Badgers development side were beaten 3-1 at Bradford.

The visitors failed to recover from the early loss of stalwart Graham Guffick to injury and put in a lacklustre first-half performance.

Bradford led 2-0 at half-time and, although City played with greater urgency in the second half to be rewarded with a Matt Horn effort, the hosts quickly added a third.
