Heavy defeat for York RI RUFC

A much-changed York RI RUFC suffered a heavy 41-0 defeat at Thornensians in Yorkshire Three.

Seven changes due to unavailability meant the RI pack in particular was weakened, but still put in a creditable performance, especially Ewan Metcalfe and Barry Steele.

A slick Thorne three-quarter line created openings in the first half for them to lead 29-0 at the break.

Again, RI played a lot better in the second half, restricting Thorne to just two breakaway tries.
