AN excellent start evaporated for Heworth who could not sustain the momentum of bagging their first National Conference League division two point in almost two years last week.
The Villagers roared 8-0 up with unconverted tries from Nikki Wilson and Lewis Worthington at home to Elland.
But by half-time Heworth trailed 16-8, an Elland lead that swelled to 22-8 before Wilson notched a second try from a Mike Welsh pass.
Just after the hour Elland again crossed to undo the fine work of Wilson, Welsh, Michael Brown and Chris Varley.
