Clash of youth team pace-setters

UNBEATEN York City will travel to Doncaster Rovers for a top-of-the-table youth alliance clash this Saturday on the back of a 2-1 home win over Hartlepool.

Chris Dickinson grabbed the winner their latest success after meeting a Ben Weir corner at the near post.

Earlier, Ollie Smith opened the scoring with a calm first-half finish.

After Hartlepool levelled with a far-post header, Steve Torpey’s teenagers then soaked up a spell of pressure and took the points courtesy of Dickinson’s first-time strike.

this makes all the hard work done by everyone connected with the youth team worthwhile..so well done to everyone.hope to see some of the lads in the first team one day soon.
