Cruise control thrills Selby RUFC

Selby RUFC cemented their place at the top of Yorkshire 2 with a sound 57-12 defeat of visitors Roundhegians.

Fittingly an opening 45-metre penalty from Cruise set the tone as Selby sailed to tries at regular intervals from centres Alex Webster and Mitchell Knowles, and full-back Dan Porter. Cruise converted all three.

Roundhegians got on the scoreboard after 50 minutes. But hooker Josh Greenfield replied, Cruise converting and when the Roundhegians prop was yellow-carded Selby took advantage scoring tries through through Webster and Martin Protheroe both improved by Cruise.

Further tries from winger Ben Lunt and prop Andrew Pocklington to one from Roundhegians completed the scoring.
