Darts: Terry Temple’s sad brace of loses

TERRY Temple suffered two second round defeats in the latest PDC Players Championship events at Barnsley.
The Whitwell-on-the-Hill ace beat Michael Smith 6-2 before bowing out 6-3 to Darren Webster in the first competition.
Temple then overcame Jim Walker 6-3 the next day, only to be whitewashed by number one seed Justin Pipe.
Acomb ’s Chris Thompson triumphed 6-2 against Steve Maish before winning just one leg in a second round defeat to Wayne Jones.
The Hitman went on to lose 6-3 to former World Championship quarter-finalist Paul Nicholson in his first match on the next day.
