Heworth to face tough task at promotion-chasing Waterhead

A TOUGH task awaits Heworth ARLC as they chase a first National Conference League division two victory of the season at the 20th attempt.

The Villagers travel to promotion-chasing Waterhead on Saturday (2.30pm) hoping to build on the improvements they showed in last weekend’s 36-22 home defeat by Eastmoor Dragons.

Having trailed 22-0 after 20 minutes, but fought back under the leadership of skipper Mike Welsh, backed by Sam Clarke, Jack Hodgson and young centre Jason Smith.

Spokesman Ken Sykes said: “Waterhead are going pretty well and looking good for promotion. It will be tricky but we will get a team out and give it our best shot.”

There is no game for Heworth ‘A’ in the Yorkshire Men’s League.
