Terry Temple’s no bit-Part darts player

WHITWELL-ON-THE-HILL’S Terry Temple knocked three-time world champion John Part out of the German Darts Masters.

Temple, pictured, rattled off six successive legs to defeat Canadian Part 6-2 and book a place in the second round of the Sindelfingen event.

Former World Masters champion Tony West then threw six 180s to end Temple’s challenge 6-4 in a game that was always on a knife-edge.

Temple took the first leg in that match with a 123 finish and, after falling behind 3-1, reduced the deficit with three ton-plus scores and a double two checkout.

Two maximums also saw Temple stay in touch at 4-3 and his 13-dart leg had the scores at 5-4 before West held his nerve to clinch victory as his opponent waited to finish on 36 after a 140 throw.
