Darts: Captain's five ton scores leads to Five Lions victory

FIVE Lions captain Michelle Britton led from the front with five ton scores as they roared to an 8-1 victory at Slipper, whose pairing Sue Tate and Vicky Middleton scored their only point in York John Smith’s Ladies Darts League division one.
Clifton captain Karen Hodgson prevented visitors Cueball ‘B’ from taking home a full house.
The snooker club’s Natalie Farmeary top-scored with three tons.
A 25-dart pairs leg from Bev Harton and Tina Platt for the division one leaders was a bonus.
Tramways had Jo Hodges top-scoring with 140, 100, 100 as they had victory secured within the singles at Burnholme, whose Caroline Whittaker was involved in both points that they scored.
Faye Hawksby was another triple-ton scorer as she and sister Heather Outterson sealed victory in the final leg for Cueball ‘A’ to down Flag by the meanest margin.
Division two front-runners Ox ‘A’ were prevented from a total clearance as Leeman ‘B’ captain Barbara Russell took their lone point in a closer match than suggested by the the 8-1 scoreline.
Second-placed Bootham Club were pipped by Acomb ‘B’ pairing Viv Netherwood and Amanda Harris’s pairs win.
Turpin were seen home by captain Alison King and Laura Toomer in a close-fought match against Ox ‘B’, whose Janice Green starred.
Acomb ‘A’ made home advantage count. Despite being a player short they ran out 6-3 victors against visitors Severus ‘A’, whose Davina Shannon hit a 140.
Severus ‘B’ increased their lead at the head of division three as Wendy Atkin (27) led them to a 6-3 win against visitors Jubilee.
Chris Patterson and Julie McKie snatched victory for Woolpack in the final game at Shepherd ‘B’.
Vicky McClaren hit the tons for Woolpack.
Shepherd ‘A’ captain Maggie Bedingham combined with Catherine Higgins to secure victory by the smallest margin at close rivals Leeman ‘A’.
Jaquie Woods (131, 120, 100) played well for Burton Club. However, the double was elusive as they were well beaten by visitors Shoulder ‘A’.
Sun came good in the pairs, but it proved too late as visitors Shoulder ‘B’ took home a 6-3 result.
