Leeds United hope for beneficial break

ASSISTANT-BOSS Mick Jones has bemoaned an untimely international break but hopes the Leeds United players not in action this weekend can recharge batteries before resuming their assault on the “best league in the world”.

Players who aren’t on international duty are to enjoy a rare few days off before United prepare for next week’s trip to the Welsh capital eager to maintain a fine start to the season.

“The players trained really hard for a couple of days this week and then they have a break before we get ready for the Cardiff game,” said Jones.

“If you have some momentum going you don’t really want a break, but it is what it is and we have to use it to our own advantage.”

He added: “From a personal point of view this is some league. I think it’s the best in the world. At this moment in time 18 teams can win it and you can’t say that about any other league in this world.”
