Wicket-keeper Andrew Hodd signs for Yorkshire

Yorkshire have completed the permanent signing of wicket-keeper Andrew Hodd from Susex.

The glovesman, who has impressed since joining the county on loan last month, has agreed a two-year deal at Headingley. He’ll provide cover for York-based Jonny Bairstow when he is away with England.

Said Hodd: “I am really looking forward to the challenges ahead with Yorkshire, but would also like to wish Sussex all the best for the future and hope our paths cross in division one of the Championship next summer.”

Jason Gillespie, Yorkshire’s first team coach, added: “Andrew is one of the best ’keepers in the country and you want the best players in your team. We’ve got no qualms about signing him. He’s a great lad and a very good cricketer.”
