Bogey run puts skids under Simon Dyson’s European Masters charge

FOUR bogeys in five holes dashed York golfer Simon Dyson’s chances of a top-ten finish at the Omega European Masters in Switzerland.
After seven holes of his final round, the 34-year-old was well-placed on nine under par, but a nightmare run around the turn at Crans-sur-Sierre ended his challenge.
That left the world number 46 a total of 11 shots shy of winner Richie Ramsay of Scotland in a seven-way tie for 27th place that earned him 18,690 euros.
An eagle at the par five opening hole and a birdie at the sixth was the perfect start for Dyson, who had also made a fast start to his round on Saturday, firing four birdies in the opening eight holes en route to carding a 67 to add to rounds of 69 and 70 on the first two days.
