Vale Cricket League: James Kerr's 4-25 aids Goole win

One HPH York Vale League game was completed on Sunday – Heworth II losing by seven wickets at Goole Town, who strengthened their division four promotion prospects.

Heworth were shot out for 84, James Kerr taking 4-25, as Goole won by seven wickets, William O’Donnell remaining unbeaten on 55.

Bishopthorpe II have been deducted 15 points from their draw with Goole earlier in the season for fielding first team regular Scott Reeves. The Bishops were also fined £50 for the team strengthening offence.

Clubs are reminded that fixtures this weekend and on Saturday, September 8, start at 1.30pm not 2pm.

The league’s last cup final of the summer, the Graham Headley Memorial Trophy, will be held on Sunday (1.30pm start) when Stockton & Hopgrove II take on Askham Bryan II.
