Successful night for Legions Thai-Boxing Club
10:46am Thursday 30th August 2012 in Sport
Dean Croft, Luke Atkin, Al Chambers and Liam Goodwin
FIVE-STAR knockout success was achieved by members of the Legions Thai-Boxing Club when they switched codes.
The quintet – pictured from left, Dean Croft, Luke Atkin, Al Chambers and Liam Goodwin (another fighter Jordan Carr was not available for the photograph, while Croft was replaced on the show by Ian Houillebecq) – all traded high-kicks for boxing gloves to feature on an English Boxing Federation bill at the Huntington Working-Men’s Club.
For all but Atkin, a successful amateur boxer, it was the first pro encounter for the Legions aces – and they all came through the night in triumph.
Carr and Goodwin won on points, Chambers and Houillebecq won on stoppages, and Atkin lifted the EBF Yorkshire area middleweight title.
