Senior Cricket League: Woodhouse Grange take the honours against Sessay

DIVISION three Leaders Woodhouse Grange defeated Sessay by seven wickets with 2.5 of the 29 overs to spare.
In Sessay’s 139-7, Darren Atkinson made 25, Tom Wilkinson 24, Tom Sowerby 40 and Dan Easton 39. Dave Suddaby took 4-59 and then saw Jon Bean make 48no. Matt Hattee hit a rapid 20 and Matt Shepherd 43.
Ripon, batting second, reached 125-8 after hosts Scarborough had made 125-4 in a tied 35-over division three duel.
For the home side, Josh Mainprize hit 56 while Ripon’s hero was long serving player and club president who made an unbeaten 57. Jack Holt had 3-38 but Ripon managed a single off the final over to level the scores and claim 19 points to their hosts’ 21.
Welton & Brough posted a 54-run win over Malton after declaring on 178-4 after 42 overs.
Graham Copley starred with 74, while Darren McClure made 33. In reply, S Audsley made 28 and Oliver Gilbank 26, but Adam Boasman’s 6-37 was decisive as Malton were dismissed for 120.
Three games were aborted at an early stage – at Hovingham, New Earswick and Sheriff Hutton.
