Yorkshire book Friends Life t20 final place

YORKSHIRE produced a stunning all-round display to beat Sussex by 36 runs in the semi-finals of the Friends Life t20 at Cardiff.

The Tykes, who qualify for the Champions League in South Africa in October, will play either Somerset or Hampshire in tonight's final after successfully defending their total of 172-6.

York's Jonny Bairstow hit an unbeaten 68 and David Miller made 47 after Yorkshire won the toss and batted first.

Then England's Tim Bresnan took 2-22 and Rich Pyrah 2-30 from their four over stints, while Ryan Sidebottom and Azeem Rafiq also took wickets as Sussex were restricted to 136-8.

Chris Nash was the mainstay of the Sussex innings with an unbeaten 80 at the top of the order.
