Motivado heads Ebor Handicap market after York Racecourse draw

MOTIVADO maintained his position at the top of the market for the Betfred Ebor Handicap following the draw held at York Racecourse this morning.

Sir Mark Prescott’s gelding was as short as 7-2 with some bookmakers after being drawn in the number eight stall for Saturday’s renewal of Europe’s richest handicap, staged over a mile-and-three quarters.

Among the North Yorkshire contenders, York specialist Crackentorp, trained by Tim Easterby at Great Habton, was handed stall 17, while Middleham trainer Mark Johnston’s Hurricane Higgins will go from number three in a bid to follow up his win at Glorious Goodwood last time out.

Malton trainer Richard Fahey’s Area Fifty One will occupy the seventh stall and old stager Blue Bajan, trained at Nawton by David O’Meara, is in the number 12 berth.
