Leeds United rocked by Blackpool spirit

LEEDS United were sunk by two goals in the last 15 minutes as they went down 2-1 at Blackpool in the npower Championship.

The Whites, who won their opening league fixture 1-0 at home to Wolves on Saturday, took a 16th-minute lead at Bloomfield thanks to Tom Lees’ back-post header from a Ross McCormack corner.

However, manager Neil Warnock, who brought Lees into the side in the only change from the Wolves win, was left reeling by Blackpool’s late come back.

Substitute Nouha Dicko equalised on 75 minutes from a Stephen Crainey cross and the home side sealed all three points through winger Matt Phillips, another late substitute, with ten minutes remaining.

Tom Ince nearly added a third when he hit the bar with a long-range free-kick.

• Harrogate Town lost 2-1 at home to Altrincham in Blue Square Bet North.
