Javelin silver medal for George Davies

CITY of York Athletics Club youngster George Davies maintained his superb form with a silver medal in the javelin at the UK Athletics Championships in Bedford.
Davies threw 57.67 metres to finish second in the under-15s event.
Coach Paul Wilson said: “This was his second best throw ever and he just missed out on the gold medal.
“We are now preparing George for next season with the heavier javelin as he could qualify for the World Youth Championships if he carries on with the progress he made.”
