Yorkshire v Derbyshire Lunch day 1

Yorkshire have made an encouraging start to their LV=County Championship clash with Derbyshire at Headingley.

At lunch on day one, they had reached 123 for two in their first-innings.

Adam Lyth was unbeaten on 56 at the interval with Gary Ballance on 11.

The two wickets to fall were captain Andrew Gale for 47 and Phil Jaques for only three.

This is only the second time that Lyth has made 50 in the Championship this season.

On the last occasion he went on to reach an unbeaten 248 against Leicestershire.
