Heworth ARLC beaten at Hunslet Warriors

Heworth ARLC ‘A’ gave a below-par first-half performance as they went down 38-4 at Hunslet Warriors ‘A’ in the Yorkshire Mens League.

The hosts scored five first-half tries to lead 26-4 at the break, with the Villagers’ only reward a good unconverted try for prop forward Mike Crossman.

Heworth tightened up their defence in the second half to restrict the hosts to two further touch downs.

Heworth were well led by Crossman, with other good efforts put in by John Laverack, Mike Welsh and John Jewitt.

New Earswick All Blacks , who will play in the Pennine League championship next season, have started pre-season training at White Rose Avenue on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6.45pm.

New players are welcome.

Players are also asked to attend a meeting on August 21 at 7pm.
