Season preview: York City tipped for survival
6:00pm Wednesday 8th August 2012 in Sport
THE bookmakers are not expecting York City to struggle on their return to League Two.
BetVictor price Gary Mills’ men at a reassuring 12-1 to go straight back down, odds put into context by the 5-2 posted against relegation favourites Barnet by bet365.
Eight teams are considered by bookies to be more likely candidates for the drop.
Neither are City expected to trouble the top few places in League Two.
Rotherham are BetVictor’s 7-2 market leaders in the title betting ahead of ambitious Fleetwood at 6-1 courtesy of Stan James, while York are as high as 33-1 via Skybet to be champions.
Fans can also tackle Stan James’ 7-1 for City to secure back-to-back promotions and it’s 3-1 (BetVictor) for Mills’ charges to clinch a play-off place at the very least.
In the top scorer betting meanwhile, Jason Walker is 33-1 with Ladbrokes to be the division’s most prolific goal getter, bet365 rate Jamie Reed at 50-1.
