Season preview: City and sponsors work in Synergy as League Two adventure beckons

YORK City are hoping to wipe the floor with their League Two rivals this season with the help of new back-of-shirt sponsors Synergy Cleaning Ltd.

The Acomb -based firm’s logo will appear on City’s 2012/13 home and away shirts, as well as the replica shirts worn by supporters.

Established in 2009, Synergy Cleaning is a company which offers extensive cleaning services to offices, retail outlets and private individuals throughout the city and the wider area.

The expanding business employs 40 people and was named winner of The Press’ Best New Business award last year.

Synergy Cleaning is owned and run by York-born Michaela Knights and fellow director Mark McLoughlin.

Along with Michaela’s 14-year-old daughter, Amelia, they are Main Stand season ticket holders at Bootham Crescent and made both trips to Wembley in May to see the Minstermen lift the FA Trophy and gain promotion to League Two.

Commenting on their sponsorship, Knights said: “As York City supporters and a local business employing local people, Synergy Cleaning are proud and delighted to be the Minstermen’s new back of shirt sponsor. We are excited about the season ahead and wish the club every success in League Two.”

City’s business development director Rob McGill added: “We are very pleased to have Synergy Cleaning on board as our new back-of-shirt sponsor.

“It is marvellous to receive such great support from another local company, employing local people and it is particularly special that the Synergy Cleaning directors are such big York City fans.

“We hope Synergy Cleaning enjoys their new partnership with York City Football Club and we thank them for their support.”
