Cage fighter Adam Wright on course for seven-up glory

ROUTE 66 has helped to steer upcoming York cage fighter Adam Wright to fresh heights.

The man, who fights out of the new United Masters Academy banner operated jointly by Gaz Watkinson and Tony Dias, has impressed with an unbeaten run.

He won his sixth contest for a six out of six record, coincidentally achieved on the bill of the sixth Cage Confrontation show put on by Watkinson and Dias in York.

Now the 23-year-old Wright is earmarked for seventh heaven as he has been pencilled in for an assault on a British title next month.

Said Watkinson: “Adam has done ever so well.

“He always listens to advice and his run of victories is reward for his commitment and dedication to the sport.”

The United Masters gym, which is in Layerthorpe’s Redeness Street, could have a British title-holder on its books before Wright’s title shot.

Wes Nunns has been teed up for a crack at the ISKA British championship at Barnsley’s Metrodome.

“ISKA is one of the better recognised fighting bodies, so it would be a great belt for Wes to winn,” said Watkinson.
